SoRanks Update #2 - April 5th, 2023
Another week, another rankings sheet packed with value insights.
One week in and there is already a lot of moving and shaking in the rankings.
Not to toot my own horn, but last week’s ranks highlighted a few guys that have since won their fair share of the spotlight.
Thank you, Cedric Mullins, for leading that charge.
But that doesn’t mean things stay static.
In fact, there are plenty of new options to consider when it comes to finding performance without breaking the bank.

As you can see, some things stayed the same, some things changed considerably. Let’s look closer at some of those things that changed.
Insights
Not to belabor the point from last week, but we are still very early in the season.
As such, fantasy players are prone to overreacting to the performance they have seen thus far.
For the most part, you can benefit from taking a longer-term approach to player value. And not placing too much value on a couple game sample.
As such, I adjusted my long-term ranking portion slightly upward to capture a little bit of that sweet, sweet, overreaction.
In addition, we saw two other notable macro changes.
Steals are waaaay up.
Suddenly, you can consider filling roster holes with pure-speed guys. While power & speed combo guys like Mullins become even more valuable.Contact Pitching, and pitching in general, dipped.
I adjusted all pitchers down a couple of percentage points in my ranks to account for the shift changes better. Additionally, contact (low K%) pitchers that used to eat up innings are facing potentially painful seasons ahead. More on that below.
Note: Before the yelling starts, value is extremely subjective. Therefore all this is to be taken as a guide to playing the game of Sorare better over a long time horizon, not as investment advice or as the only way for a player to succeed.
This is a tool, not a magic crystal ball.
Let’s get into our 10 & 10 for the week!

There are some off-season darlings and injury discounts to be had out there right now. I’ll note the injury discounts with a (*) because you will definitely want to check on the recovery timelines before diving in.
