If you are reading this right now, you care deeply about your Sorare MLB squad and its performance.
You are looking for every edge so that you can outperform the competition week-in, week out.
And I deeply enjoy bringing that to you.
But I was hoping to ask a favor of you today.
I want this newsletter to help more people play this beautiful game.
To that end, I’ve cooked up some beastly referral rewards if you’d like to help me achieve this goal:
Share to 3 friends, get my Top MLB Resources Guide fo’ free.
Share to 7 friends, get a free 30-minute Sorare strategy call with me.
Share to 11 friends, I will personally deep-dive into your squad and give you a full write-up of strengths, weaknesses, buys and sells.
Each of these rewards is, of course, targeted at helping you improve your game in a flash.
So whaddya say, wanna help me grow and help more managers?
I’ll pre-emptively tip my hat to you and say thank you for all your help 🙏 So, without any further ado, let’s get into this week’s rankings update!
Rankings
Pro tip: click or tap the top of any given column to sort the data. You can also search for a given player using the “Search in table” box.
Players with negative numbers in the “+/-” column are “Values”, while players with positive numbers in that column are considered “Overvalues.” Lastly, if the google doc was your best friend, you can still find it right here.
Please note: based on how the pricing data is pulled, some players have blanks in their +/-. This will improve over time as more and more cards continue to hit the market for each player and more data flows to the provider.
10 Value Candidates
The following 10 players are ones I believe can help you win in the latter half of this season and/or beyond!
Brandon Woodruff - MIL - SP
SoRank: 40 | Implied Rank: 147 | -107 slot differential
His price is creeping up, but nowhere near to where it will end up when he’s back on the field.
Vinnie Pasquantino - KC - 1B/DH
SoRank: 56 | Implied Rank: 213 | -157 slot differential
Patience is the name of the game when it comes to Vinny P.
Teoscar Hernandez - SEA - OF/DH
SoRank: 57 | Implied Rank: 215 | -158 slot differential
Gotta love cheap power on a team that has underperformed during the first half of the season.
Tim Anderson - CWS - SS
SoRank: 61 | Implied Rank: 179 | -118 slot differential
While Anderson brings very little in terms of power, especially when I list him after Teoscar, he does bring the potential for a high average, steals, and the points therein. I think it is coming with Anderson, whether he stays on the White Sox or has a new home in a week.
Carlos Rodon - NYY - SP
SoRank: 71 | Implied Rank: 183 | -112 slot differential
We knew the recovery time was going to be long, but it seems managers are losing patience with Rodon. That can be your gain.
Tommy Edman - STL - 2B/SS
SoRank: 84 | Implied Rank: 214 | -130 slot differential
Edman should be back from his wrist injury soon, and I’d expect his price to recover along with his health and performance.
Daulton Varsho - TOR - OF/DH
SoRank: 97 | Implied Rank: 257 | -160 slot differential
An exciting young prospect that has lost a bit of his shine this season, I think Varsho suffered from the new home blues we see with many players. He remains a great add on what should be a great offense.
Luis Severino - NYY - SP
SoRank: 105 | Implied Rank: 435 | -330 slot differential
Severino has shown signs of picking up the pieces of his broken season, yet his price continues to slip. There is a lot of talent here.
Tyler O’Neill - STL - OF
SoRank: 129 | Implied Rank: 274 | -145 slot differential
Trade or no, with regular playing time O’Neill has flashed massive power potential. And we all love Home Runs in Sorare.
Rhys Hoskins - PHI - 1B
SoRank: 133 | Implied Rank: 296 | -163 slot differential
Still on track to return in time for the tail end of this season, Hoskins also sports massive power at a significant discount. If you can snag now and simply wait, there are a lot of points still in Hoskins’ future.
10 Overvalued Candidates
This week is a little different to the previous few. I find writing why someone is overvalued is the least fun part of this process, so rather than tell you that each of the coming players is experiencing what I believe to be an unsustainable hot streak that may or may not be paired with age-related concerns, I will just say this:
The following players are ones I would be actively looking to sell or trade to give my team a leg up over the long-haul of the next few seasons.
Kyle Schwarber - PHI - OF/DH
SoRank: 90 | Implied Rank: 43 | 47 slot differential
Max Muncy - LAD - 2B/3B/DH
SoRank: 128 | Implied Rank: 71 | 57 slot differential
Clayton Kershaw - LAD - SP
SoRank: 134 | Implied Rank: 86 | 48 slot differential
Nolan Gorman - STL - 2B/DH
SoRank: 160 | Implied Rank: 61 | 99 slot differential
Hunter Brown - HOU - SP
SoRank: 200 | Implied Rank: 70 | 130 slot differential
Josh Naylor - CLE - 1B/DH
SoRank: 207 | Implied Rank: 68 | 139 slot differential
Nathan Eovaldi - TEX - SP
SoRank: 238 | Implied Rank: 97 | 141 slot differential
Jorge Soler - MIA - OF/DH
SoRank: 252 | Implied Rank: 65 | 187 slot differential
Harrison Bader - NYY - OF
SoRank: 260 | Implied Rank: 154 | 106 slot differential
Lane Thomas - WSH - OF
SoRank: 294 | Implied Rank: 88 | 206 slot differential
That’s a wrap on the rankings, values, and overvalues for the week!
I would be deeply grateful if you could share these ranks with a friend, then (if you like) trot over to Twitter and toss me a follow.
It may sound silly, but it is huge for helping this newsletter grow 🙌 Plus, you can earn those sweet rewards I mentioned earlier.
Good luck out there this week managers!
